Happy Track Out Week! Everyone has been working very hard this quarter, I'm sure everyone is ready for a break, I know I am! This Friday is the last day of the quarter, it's hard to believe it is here already, the quarter has gone by so quickly! Friday is also Early Release day, students will be released at 1:15.
Thursday is our first learning experience. Aimee Mikula has done a great job getting everything set up for this week, however, we still need some things to make everything run smoothly. As you know, we are building scarecrows to go in the front circle and we need some more clothing! If you could raid your closets and find old shirts, hats, pants, pillow cases, and other scarecrow type accessories, it would be a great help!
Conference sign-up was sent out on Tuesday last week. If you did not get it or misplaced it, please let me know so I can resend it. If you are unable to attend one of those days, just let me know and when I know what the schedule looks like for the first week back to school, I will set up some dates and times.
Family Fun Night at Triangle Barnes and Noble is Tuesday night. It begins at 6:00 and various teachers will be reading their favorite books throughout the night and the chorus will be singing as well.
Case 21 testing is this week. We will be doing reading on Tuesday and Math on Thursday. Please make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep the night before each test and that they eat a good breakfast that morning to ensure that they are awake and ready to go.
In class this week we are going to begin our Geometry unit. With Case 21 testing this week, we won't get very far with it, but we will cover a few things in preparation for Thursday's test. In writing we are continuing to work on Adventure Stories. In reading we are continuing to work on analyzing characters and their relationships and interactions with other characters. In social studies we are continuing to study economics and science we are going to wrap up a couple of weather topics.
I think that about covers it for this week. Don't forget to send in any old clothing for scarecrows if you have anything that would work. Thanks so much!
